Well, with the sunshine, I’m hoping that I’m ready to come out of my winter hibernation state and ready to take on 2012 with renewed energy and enthusiasm.  I haven’t stopped creating but over the winter months and after the hustle and bustle of the pre-Christmas show season, I often feel a bit burnt out and take a bit of a break.  This is the time that I often return to my other creative pursuits.  I spend many winter nights with my knitting needles, in front of my spinning wheel and this year, I’ve also taken a lot of time to sew and quilt.  I’m enjoying making totes and project bags these days, as well as quilts and with my new serger and my awesome sewing machine, I’m also trying to get back into garment sewing and, of course, back into dance costume sewing. 

A few things to mention about March/April:

• I’ll be teaching at the Fraser Valley Bead show (March 23-25) once again and am looking forward to teaching a Beaded Shaggy Loops class.  The finished bracelet will be a stunning blend of rings and beads and will be a great addition to your jewelry collection.  I would consider this class something that even a real beginner can tackle.  Check out the link to the Fraser Valley Bead show.  My class is here.

• I will also be at the Creative Finds Spring Fling with a blend of de-stash items (some fibre, some yarn, maybe some beads), I’m thinking of having some chainmaille kits so you can try your own hand at some chainmaille and I will also bring a bit of finished jewelry as well as some of my sewing.
